CAT Syllabus

The syllabus of CAT 2017 Syllabus Common Admission Test Exam is not predefined. IIM CAT exam is held each year to test the aptitude or problem-solving ability for MBA admissions. The CAT exam pattern is such that it has 2 main sections. The first section is Verbal Ability or Logical Reasoning. The second section is of Quantitative Ability or Data Interpretation.

CAT Maths / Quantitative Ability

This part tests the eligible candidate’s ability to mathematical problem-solving skills. Questions on probability, algebra, trigonometry, profit-loss, PnC or other such topics are asked.

CAT English / Verbal Ability –  

This part of the paper deals with aptitude test of the eligible candidate in understanding or comprehending the English Language. Questions are asked on analogies, synonyms/antonyms, verbal reasoning, or reading comprehension.

Logical Reasoning

Such questions are asked on blood relations, seating arrangements, matrix arrangements & so on.

Data Interpretation

In this questions are basically those wherein a particular topic set of data is given, and questions asked based on same. All eligible Candidate must be adept at analysing or drawing conclusions from data.
